ARTWORKS OUTDOORS
July 25 - Sept. 2, 2010

As part of the exhibition ARTWORKS OUTDOORS, Gayle Nelson and Fiona McDonald showed two works at St Andrews Botanic Garden this summer. The first, Three Trees, was originally created for the StAnza Poetry Festival, and is an interpretation of elements seen and heard in a quiet garden. The delicate perspex lettering of the second artwork, How Does Your Garden Grow, wound subtly around a wildflower border. This artwork was developed specifically for the Botanic Garden. The words are from a well-known verse, and in this context used to reference the expression of identity through gardening. The exhibition was funded by Celebrating Fife 2010.
